In my client’s newly renovated Needham, MA kitchen, this custom mosaic serves as a radiant focal point, bringing a sense of artistry and personal meaning to the heart of their home. From our very first meeting, they shared their love for the colors of purple, lavender, and the essence of Provence—an inspiration that became the soul of this piece.
Titled Lavande et Lumière en Plein Air (Lavender and Light in the Open Air), this mosaic is a celebration of the soft hues of sunlit lavender fields, infused with light, texture, and movement. Through layered glass, ceramic, and mixed media, the design evokes the warmth and serenity of a Provencal landscape, while seamlessly complementing their newly transformed space.
